How do you get rid of ants permanently?

Ants are eliminated by treating the colony, not the trail. We identify the species, apply a non-repellent product the foragers carry back to the queen, and place matched gel bait on live internal trails. Surface sprays only kill foragers and cause colonies to split into satellite nests, which is why the ants return.

What you notice

It starts as one line of ants along the splashback. You spray it, the line disappears, and for about a week you think you've won. Then they're back - on the bench, in the pantry, in the dishwasher seal, and now there are three trails instead of one.

Why it keeps coming back

That isn't bad luck. Most retail sprays are repellent: they kill the ants you can see and tell the colony it's under attack. The response is budding - the nest splits and relocates into new satellite colonies through the wall cavities, under the pavers and out into the garden beds. Every spray makes the map bigger.

How we solve it

We work the opposite way. First the species gets identified, because coastal brown, black house, Argentine, pharaoh and white-footed house ants each need a different product and a different bait matrix. Then a non-repellent transfer treatment goes down where the foragers travel - they walk through it, feel nothing, and carry it home to the queen and the brood. Live internal trails get species-matched gel bait placed in cracks and voids where kids and pets can't get to it.

01Why do ants come back after I spray them?

Supermarket surface sprays are repellent. They kill the foragers you can see and signal the colony to split into satellite nests, so the problem returns bigger and in more places. We use non-repellent products the ants carry back to the queen instead.

02How long does ant treatment take to work?

Trails usually drop away within 3 to 7 days as the transfer product and bait move through the colony. Large coastal brown ant colonies under pavers can take up to two weeks to collapse fully.

03Is ant treatment safe around kids and pets?

Yes. Products are APVMA-registered and low-odour, surfaces are safe once dry, and gel bait is placed in cracks and voids where children and pets can't reach it.

04Can you treat ants in the kitchen without emptying the cupboards?

Mostly. We work in the cracks, hinges and voids rather than spraying food-prep surfaces, so you only need to clear the immediate area on the live trail.

05What are the tiny ants in my bathroom and kitchen?

Usually white-footed house ants or pharaoh ants chasing moisture. Both respond to baiting rather than spraying - spraying pharaoh ants in particular causes budding, where one colony becomes several.

06Do you treat ants in the garden and lawn too?

Yes. Nest sites in garden beds, under pavers, along retaining walls and in lawn areas are treated as part of the job, because that's where the colony actually lives.
